The original scents are Edgar Allan Poe (a mix of patchouli, absinthe and sandalwood), Jane Austen (gardenia, tuberose and jasmine) Henry Thoreau (a blend of cedar, moss and juniper) Walt Whitman (grass, thyme and clover), and Charles Dickens (tangerine, juniper and clove).

If more were going to be created, I’d have to suggest the Hunter S. Thompson (motor oil, marijuana smoke and the paranoid sweat of fear).

Gregory Weir of Ludus Novus has released a game called Silent Conversation on Armor Games. The game involves guiding a letter ‘I’ avatar to move over the words in extracts from poetry and prose, including William Carlos Williams and H P Lovecraft. The typography is is often arranged in Mario-esque platforms and the challenge is to hit as many words as possible whilst avoiding words highlighted in red.

Whilst you move your avatar through the game, parts of the text take on qualities of what is happening in the story. The word "moon" will hang above you in the sky or a storm of the words "sand" may fly by as wind. Very innovative way to read and fun to play!

Ok, so it's a lot of text to read through, but well worth it. This amusing commentary on librarians is available on clothing, accessories such as tote bags, and on poster prints. In case you can't read it here it says:

Ok, sure. We've all got our little preconceived notions about who Librarians are and what they do. Many people think of Librarians as diminutive civil servants, scuttling about "Sssh-ing" people and stamping things.
Well, think again buster. Librarians have degrees. They go to graduate school for Information Science and become masters of data systems and Human-Computer Interaction. Librarians can catalog anything from an onion to a dog's ear.
They could catalog you. Librarians wield unfathomable power. With a flip of the wrist they can hide your dissertation behind piles of old Field & Stream magazines. They can find data for your term paper that you never knew existed. They may even point you toward new and appropriate subject headings.
People become Librarians because they know too much. Their knowledge extends beyond mere categories. They cannot be confined to disciplines. Librarians are all-knowing and all-seeing.
They bring order to chaos. They bring wisdom and culture to the masses. They preserve every aspect of human knowledge. Librarians rule.
And they will kick the crap out of anyone who says otherwise.

In a world where the Crash Pad puppets run the library, books such as Catcher in the Rye, The Joy of Cooking, all of non-fiction, and the phone book would be banned. It just goes to show that people, or puppets, can make an argument to ban just about anything.

Elves, dwarves, and men battle a brood of librarian castouts while the Hobbits make a mad dash across campus to return The Book of Power, a text 30 years overdue.
